<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic component in which deterioration in insulation is suppressed without impairing external appearance. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The electronic component C1 includes: a green compact 10 composed of magnetic powder and an insulation material for covering particles of the magnetic powder. The green compact 10 has peripheral side surfaces 104-106 and 108-110 on which a pair of terminal metal fixtures 30, 32 are provided; and a pair of end surfaces 101, 102 opposing each other with the peripheral side surfaces 104-106 and 108-110 between. Integrated regions R1 integrated by crushing a plurality of particles of the magnetic powder are dotted on the peripheral side surfaces. Since the integrated regions R1 are flat and glossy, the green compact 10 is excellent in external appearance. The integrated regions R1 are not continuously formed on the whole peripheral surfaces, but dotted. Accordingly, the terminal metal fixtures 30, 32 can be prevented from short-circuited via the integrated regions R1, the insulation of the green compact can be improved.
