<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent information left in an ink ribbon of a thermal transfer type from leaking by a simple constitution. Ž<P>SOLUTION: After a tape cartridge 30 is used, an adhesive agent coating head 60 of an adhesive agent coating unit 50 is moved via an opening 47 to a coating position where the coating head comes into contact with an ink ribbon R, and the adhesive agent is attached to the ink ribbon R by the adhesive agent coating unit 50. The ink ribbon R is bonded and fixed thereby, so that the leakage of information is prevented. The adhesive agent coating unit 50 is reciprocated between the coating position and a retracting position, based on opening and closing of a lid 16, which enables the adhesive agent to be attached to the ribbon R of a used-up cartridge 30 when the tape cartridge 30 is replaced.
