<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power failure detection circuit which detects conduction and power failure of an AC power supply in the primary side of a transformer and which outputs a reset signal to a control section in synchronization with the detection of the conduction. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The power failure detection circuit, which detects the conduction and power failure of the AC power supply, includes: a power failure detection means, which detects the conduction and power failures of the AC power supply in the primary side of a transformer: a detection signal generation means, which generates a conduction detection signal and a power failure detection signal; a reset signal generation means, which generates a reset signal: and a synchronization means, which synchronizes the generation of the conduction detection signal and the reset one when the power failure detection means detects the conduction.
