PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radio communication system, a terminal station, a radio communication method, a program, and a recording medium, efficiently performing active scanning, accelerating the connection establishment of radio communication, appropriately determining radar detection and improving the quality of the radio communication. SOLUTION: In the radio communication system, the terminal station is provided with a scanning processing means for performing the active scanning to establish connection when a beacon frame sent out from a base station is detected and performing passive scanning to detect the beacon frame when the beacon frame sent out from the base station is not detected.
