摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine control device improving fuel economy properties while preventing or inhibiting a torque shock when mechanical energy is regenerated with driving a generator during a deceleration fuel cut operation. SOLUTION: An ECU 40 of an engine E executes deceleration fuel cut when fuel stop conditions are satisfied, and opens a throttle valve 23. The ECU closes the throttle valve 23 when fuel return conditions are satisfied after that, and returns fuel. The ECU 40 controls the output voltage of the generator 30 driven and rotated with the engine E to promote charging a battery 31 during the deceleration fuel cut operation and to inhibit charging the battery 31 during a non-deceleration fuel cut operation. Moreover, the ECU controls the open/close timing of an intake valve 12 to reduce an intake air filled quantity during the deceleration fuel cut operation when the drive load of the generator 30 is not greater than a prescribed load.
