<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sanitary washing device having an improved hygienic property of a washing nozzle. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This sanitary washing device includes: the washing nozzle 410 housed in a casing 12, and having the surface thereof provided with a layer containing a photocatalyst; a drive unit 420 for moving the washing nozzle 410 to the outside of the casing 12; a light-emitting portion 500 for applying ultraviolet rays to the surface of the washing nozzle 410 in a state of being housed in the casing 12; and a water ejection portion 434 which is provided in a passage for moving the washing nozzle 410 to the outside of the casing 12 by the drive unit 420, and emits a jet of water to the washing nozzle 410. After the photocatalyst is excited by the ultraviolet rays applied by the light-emitting portion 500, the washing nozzle 410 is moved to the outside of the casing 12 by the drive unit 420 while emitting the jet of water toward the washing nozzle 410 from the water ejection portion 434.
