摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus that achieves both high speed auto-focusing and further reduction in size of an imaging apparatus body. SOLUTION: A state of a light flux separation member 6 and a focus detecting element 19 is changed among a first position where the light flux separation member 6 is disposed on a photographing optical path between a movable lens barrel 2 and a CCD 7, to reflect and guide image-forming light flux to the focus detecting element 19, and the image-forming light flux reflected by the light flux separation member 6 is received by the focus detecting element 19 when the movable lens barrel 2 is in an extended position, a second position where the light flux separation member 6 is retracted from the photographing optical path, and the image-forming light flux is guided to the CCD 7 when the movable lens barrel 2 is in the extended position and photography is performed, and a third position where the light flux separation member 6 and the focus detecting element 19 are both retracted from a stored position when the movable lens barrel 2 is in the stored position.
