<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the degradation in equalization performance in an OFDM receiver. Ž<P>SOLUTION: An OFDM signal is transmitted by an OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) system. The OFDM signal is received by a tuner section 102 via an antenna 101, and is supplied to an FFT operation section 105 as an OFDM time domain signal through an A/D conversion section 103 and an orthogonal demodulation section. By execution of FFT operation processing by the FFT operation section 105, the OFDM time domain signal becomes an OFDM frequency domain signal. A common amplitude correction section 120 calculates average amplitude in one OFDM symbol for an OFDM frequency signal, uses the calculated average amplitude to calculate a gain, and multiplies the OFDM frequency signal by the calculated gain, thus compensating the OFDM signal.
