<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress deterioration of reception performance in an OFDM reception device. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A correlation detection circuit 111 calculates a complex conjugate correlation signal before and after delay of a complex base band signal in an effective symbol length delay circuit 110. A division circuit 120 divides one symbol section of the correlation signal into N. Each of average value calculation circuits 112-1 to 112-N obtains the respective average values of the divided correlation signals divided into N, a minimum value selection circuit 121 selects an average value whose absolute value becomes the minimum value as a corrected value among the respective average values. A correction circuit 113 corrects a correlation value signal from the correlation detection circuit 111 using the correlated value. A symbol timing reproduction circuit 115 detects the head timing of an effective symbol section from output of a guard interval length mobile average circuit 114, and outputs the detected head timing to an FFT operation circuit 107 as a symbol synchronizing signal.
