<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a Cr-free coated steel sheet which is excellent in end-surface red-rust resistance, preferably has an excellent corrosion resistance equivalent to a conventional Cr-free coated steel sheet, and also can be produced at a low cost. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The Cr-free coated steel sheet has one layer of a coated film on one side, preferably a back side of the steel sheet, and has a Zn-based plated steel sheet satisfying a following condition as a substrate, wherein the film thickness of the coated film is 2 μm to 10 μm, the content of a pigment in the coated film is 30 mass% to 70 mass% for a dried coated-film weight (when the contact angle for water on the surface of the coated film is over 60°) or 15 mass% to 70 mass% (when the contact angle for water on the surface of the coated film is 60°or below), and the total amount of the pigment of the average primary particle diameter of ≥1 μm of the pigment is ≥15 mass% for the dried coated-film weight (when the contact angle with water on the surface of the coated film is over 60°) or ≥5 mass% (when the contact angle with water on the surface of the coated film is 60° or below).
