PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wheel state detection device capable of detecting quickly and excellently a lateral force generated in a wheel by a simple constitution, and detecting both rotation and the lateral force of the wheel. SOLUTION: This device is equipped with a receiving part 1 for receiving an AC detection signal S output corresponding to rotation of a detection object from a detection element arranged oppositely at a prescribed interval to the detection object fixed to a rotator; a peak value detection part 2 for detecting a peak value of the detection signal S; a period signal generation part 3 for generating a period signal F1 having a period corresponding to the period of the detection signal S; and a lateral force detection signal generation part 5 for generating corresponding to the peak value, a lateral force detection signal F3 showing a lateral force applied to the rotator from a direction along a rotating shaft direction of the rotator.
