PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an acoustic compensation apparatus that can appropriately compensate for high frequency components by easily and quickly determining bandwidth information on deleted frequencies for an audio signal whose audio information in a high frequency band has been deleted. SOLUTION: The acoustic compensation apparatus 1 includes an audio reproduction means 2 for decoding a compressed digital audio signal, a high frequency compensation means 3 for compensating the decoded audio signal for high frequencies by synthesizing a compensation signal having a predetermined high frequency band, and a bandwidth setting means 7 for setting compensation signal bandwidth information and outputting it to the high frequency compensation means 3. The bandwidth setting means 7 sets the bandwidth information according to compression format information, sampling rate information and bit rate information about the audio signal.
