PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that enables colorless printing when the color materials of three primary colors are printed out, and enables printing with excellent gradation. SOLUTION: Data to be printed is classified in units of objects, and color conversion is carried out at a color converting part 104 by using a color conversion table based on each classified object. A gradation correcting part 105 carries out gradation correction to each object which is color-converted at the color converting part 104 through the use of a gradation correction table produced by making a transfer toner amount from a toner regulated value of CMY colors to the maximum toner amount directly proportional for each of the CMY colors. Then, each object after gradation correction is combined, and then a screen process and a pulse width modulation control process are carried out to form an image. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
