<p>The damper has a damping cylinder (10) in which a piston ram (20) is guided by a piston rod (26). The flow of damper fluid (16) i.e. damper oil, is adjustable by a flow regulating valve (22) for adjusting damper characteristic values. A high frequency sensor (30) is integrated into the piston ram for direct measurement of actual position and/or speed of the piston ram relative to the damping cylinder. The measured actual values are evaluated for regulating the flow of damper fluid. The high frequency sensor is implemented as a highly integrated sensor in silicon germanium technology. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a vehicle damper.</p> |
