The method involves determining an operating condition of a drive motor (3) of a vehicle e.g. passenger car. Air (5) is supplied to a window pane (6) e.g. windscreen, of the vehicle depending on the detected operating condition of the drive motor. The drive motor of the vehicle is automatically started or stopped depending on the operating condition of the vehicle by a starting/stopping device of the vehicle. An operating condition of a compressor of an air conditioning system (1) of the vehicle is detected. An independent claim is also included for an air conditioning system for a vehicle, comprising a detecting unit for detecting an operating condition of a drive motor of a vehicle.
