<p>Provided is a fiber fuse detector for early detecting the occurrence of a fiber fuse in an optical fiber through which laser light propagates to prevent the damage from expanding. The fiber fuse detector is provided with a light input means which is located on the laser light incident side of the optical fiber and which inputs at least part of the light propagating in the direction opposite to the light incident on the optical fiber, a light-receiving means for performing the photoelectric conversion of the light inputted by the light input means, an electrical filter means for extracting a predetermined frequency band component including a periodic signal by means of the fiber fuse from an output signal of the light-receiving means, a detection means for detecting changes of the output level of the electrical filter means by a predetermined value or more, and a warning means for issuing a warning signal according to the output of the detection of the detection means. The warning means stops or suppresses the laser light to the optical fiber.</p> |
