PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic pigment precursor compound which can be made into an organic pigment fine particles having small particle diameters, a sharp peak in particle diameter distribution and high mono-dispersibility and solvent dispersion stability and has high manufacture suitability.

SOLUTION: The organic pigment precursor compound is represented by general formula (I) (wherein (A) denotes an organic pigment residue, R1denotes a 1-5C alkyl, R2denotes alkyl, alkoxy, aryloxy, N-alkyl-N-arylamino, diarylamino, dialkylamino, amide, alkoxycarbonyl or carbamoyl, m denotes an integer of 0 to 3, and n denotes an integer of 1 to 4, and each of R1, R2and m may be the same or different when n is 2 or more).
