<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recording and reproducing apparatus capable of increasing the number of programs which can be recorded, while saving the recording capacity. <P>SOLUTION: The image recording and reproducing apparatus (personal computer) can communicate with other image recording and reproducing apparatus connected through a network. If a recording reservation for program is established, the image recording and reproducing apparatus searches by communication for other image recording and reproducing apparatus which makes a recording reservation of the same program. Among a plurality of recording sections obtained by dividing the program together with the other image recording and reproducing apparatus, a section to be recorded by the own apparatus is determined. As for the program to which the recording reservation is established, the image recording and reproducing apparatus records only the divided data of the determined section to be recorded. When the program is reproduced, the image recording and reproducing apparatus receives the divided data recorded at the other image recording and reproducing apparatus. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
