<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a service providing device and service providing system which automatically embed an appropriate link corresponding to a merchandise name and have a high advertising effect and convenience by properly detecting a character string described by a combination of a company name and a common name when a user posts a comment to an electronic bulletin board system. <P>SOLUTION: A web server for providing a function of so-called electronic bulletin board searches a partial character string formed by combining a company name and a common name, which is not the name of the merchandise but sufficiently reminds of the merchandise name, among character strings in the comment posted by the user, and embeds a URL of a web page where the merchandise name and its advertisement are placed. To achieve this, a company name master, a common name master, and a merchandise name master are prepared.
