<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an afterimage correction apparatus for applying afterimage correction on a radiation image signal which is read from a radiation image detector used repeatedly for photographing radiological images, capable of performing prior reading in a short time and performing afterimage correction with high accuracy, regardless of the variance in the charge storage time of the photographing, or the difference in the time elapsed from radioactive ray irradiation at the previous photographing. <P>SOLUTION: Electron charge is accumulated in the radiological image detector 20 for a fixed time duration where irradiation of radiation after a first photographing is not carried out; the accumulated electron charge is read as a prior reading image signal; whereas radiation-photographing conditions contain at least one of the storage time of electron charge generated in the radiation image detector 20 by a second photographing, after the reading of the previous reading image signal and the time elapsed from the first photographing. Based on the previous reading image signal and the compensation factor according to the radiation photographing conditions, afterimage correction is applied on a radiological image signal read by the second photographing. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
