PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shorts-type disposable diaper excellent in breathability and flexibility at a waist portion. SOLUTION: This shorts-type disposable diaper 1 includes an absorber body 10 with each of its ends 10a and 10b in the length direction covered with covering sheets 7, each of which has an extension part 71 extending outward of the absorber body 10 from the end portion 10a or 10b, and bonded to an external covering body 11. The external covering body 11 has a layered structure, consisting of an outer layer sheet 12 and an inner layer sheet 13 which are bonded to each other with an adhesive 16. Between the two sheets 12 and 13, a smaller amount of the adhesive 16 is applied at the area covered with the extension part 71 of the covering sheet 7 than that at the area not covered with the covering sheet 7.
