PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a special prize counting device with higher reliability in finding forgery and in preventing the act of forgery. SOLUTION: The counting device is to count special prizes 100 having an IC circuit 120 and precious metal 130 within a casing 110. The counting device includes: a conveying means 600 for conveying the special prizes 100; a first sensor 700 for reading information stored in the IC circuit 120; and a second sensor 800 for detecting the conductivity of the precious metal 130. The special prizes 100 are made to pass through a detection position of the first sensor 700 and a detection position of the second sensor 800 by the conveying means 600. The counting device is configured to count the special prizes 100 based on the information of the IC circuit 120 and to determine the authenticity of the special prizes 100 based on the conductivity of the precious metal 130.
