摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communications apparatus, an optical network system, and a communication method which can prevent reduction in communicating efficiency, by coping with a variable gap of a data interposed among packets. SOLUTION: In the communication apparatus 102, a control portion 23 performs at least one of a first task which generates a report for informing the total of the lengths of sets of the gaps to be transmitted to other apparatuses, and a second task which selects the sets of the gaps by using them as data so that the total of the data lengths does not become larger than the maximum transmission allowed quantity informing from the other apparatuses. Then, the set is a set of the gaps; furthermore, the control portion 23 performs at least one of a first correction of the total of the data lengths, informing the other apparatuses and a second correction of the total of the data lengths of the sets used, in comparison with the maximum transmission allowed quantity. The first correction is performed based on a first difference used, when determining the data length of the gap corresponding to the lading packet of a plurality of packets to be transmitted to the other apparatuses. The second correction is performed, based on a second the difference used when determining the data length of the gap, corresponding to the rearmost packet; and the difference is the difference between a multiplied result of predetermined data lengths by the number of the gaps and the accumulated length of the packets.
