<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biometrics matching device which registers biometrics information of a lot of registrants without degrading matching speed and matching precision. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The biometrics matching device stores biometrics information of registrants in the dictionary D, associating the biometrics information with feature information other than biometrics information that can be captured at a time of authentication. When biometrics information of an authentication subject is detected, the device extracts feature information from a captured image of the authentication subject other than biometrics information, selects biometrics information associated with the feature information which matches the extracted feature information from the dictionary D, and compares the selected biometrics information with the biometrics information of the subject to be authenticated.
