<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new structure having a color-filter substrate and an array substrate bonded together. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display 100 uses double-sided adhesive tape 15 as a sealing material for bonding together the color filter substrate 11 and the array substrate 12. The double-sided adhesive tape 15 bonds together the color filter substrate 11 and the array substrate 12, peripherally around a pixel area 10a. In the internal area (pixel area 10a), enclosed by the color filter substrate 11, the array substrate 12 and the double-sided adhesive tape 15, and a liquid crystal material is sealed to form a liquid crystal layer 13.
