<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce an operational burden on a worker while restraining an increase of the cost of fuel for an engine and reducing noise upon suction operation. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The suction device includes a receiver tank 5, a blower 40, an engine E connected to the blower 40 to drive and rotate the blower 40, a load releasing valve V4, limit switches SW3, 4 detecting the opened/closed state of the load releasing valve V4, a pressure sensor 63 detecting pressure in the receiver tank 5, and engine speed control means 71, 72, 74, 75 controlling the engine speed based on the opened/closed state of the load releasing valve V4 and the pressure in the receiver tank 5. The engine speed control means control the engine speed to be idle speed when the limit switch SW4 detects the opened state of the load releasing valve V4, and increase the engine speed according to the degree of a vacuum in the receiver tank 5 when the closed state of the load releasing valve V4 is detected.
