<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a slope elevator that detects overload exceeding a prescribed amount for loading amount of passengers and cargoes. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The slope elevator is constituted so as to freely go up and down on a rail via a mechanism with a rack and a pinion, interlocked and connected with a deceleration motor. An overload detector of the slope elevator detects loading amount exceeding a prescribed amount. The overload detector is arranged in an axle of a traveling wheel for traveling on the rail. Thus, as the slope elevator is arranged with the overload detector in the axle, on which the load of persons and cargoes concentrates, the detection of the overload can be precisely carried out.
