Electrodes for secondary elements are produced from a mass of thermoplastic particles and materials for a positive or negative electrode, which are given a thin-film, semi-permeable coating by immersion in a soln. which contains a lignin sulphonate or similar material, and then drying. The mass is thus provided with a coating which is ionically conducting and of reduced surface tension. The thermoplastic material may consist of polyethylene or propylene fibres, with a diameter of about 4 mu, and a length of about 3mm. The soln. for treating the mass of thermoplastic fibres and electrode materials pref. consists of 3 pts. wt. of water, and one pt. wt. of uncondensed ligning sulphonate. |
