Low wattage single ended high-pressure discharge lamp with anti-burst envelopes

The lamp i.e. metal halide lamp (10), has an inner bulb (7) whose effective axial length (HE) is defined without ends. Subsequent geometrical relations based on the length conform to volume of a hollow cylinder extending between the inner bulb and an outer bulb (3). The volume is in the range of 8 to 15 cubic centimeters. The geometrical relations conform to an impact quality defined as a product of an inner width (LW) between the bulbs and square of wall thickness (WD) of the outer bulb. The impact quality is less than 8 cubic millimeter.
