<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase user's convenience by properly giving a warning related to the performance degradation of a storage element according to circumstances. <P>SOLUTION: Since the warning is not issued if the lowering of productivity is not detected (N in S12) even when the performance degradation of the storage element is detected (Y in S11), the downtime of the image forming apparatus is reduced by restraining the warning from being issued associated with the performance degradation of the storage element. For example, when the storage element is used to supply power to a 1st heating member for heating a fixing member, the apparatus is equipped with an original 2nd heating member to generate heat by a commercial power source and also the productivity is not lowered in such use environment that the large amount of copying is not consecutively performed even when the performance degradation of the storage element is found, so that it is in the circumstances that the warning to exchange the storage element instantaneously is not required, which becomes proper measures and the user's convenience is improved. Conversely, the factors of the lowering of productivity are various, and maintenance work such as the exchange of the storage element is urged by giving the warning only when the performance degradation of the storage element is the factor of the lowering of productivity. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
