<p>An imaging device capable of expanding the area for acquiring an image with good quality, an authentication device, and light source drive method are proposed. The imaging device comprises an imaging unit including imaging sections for capturing images from reflected light reflected from the vein plexus in a finger and from transmitted light transmitted through the vein plexus and adapted for controlling the imaging units to perform imaging at mutually different timings, an illuminating unit disposed on the same direction side as the imaging unit with respect to the vein plexus and adapted for illuminating the finger with near-infrared light, an authenticating unit for performing authentication according to the image captured by the imaging unit and pre-stored vein information, and an illumination control unit for controlling the illuminating unit so that the near-infrared light emitted from the illuminating unit is scattered backward at the vein region corresponding to the imaging section in an imaging mode out of the imaging sections.</p> |
