A light guide apparatus (24) has a light outlet area (30). A light measurement apparatus has sensor arrangements with a transparent cover (38), a strip containing less than 500 sensors (40a-i) and a stop (42) to which light from the light outlet area can be applied. Light sensors are arranged in rows having a length greater than 10 times the diameter of the light outlet area. Light outlet area is circular, and the light sensors have a width which is less than the smallest light outlet area that occurs. A protective shutter is fitted to cover and leaves free an area in the form of a slot. |
