<p>The method involves discharging carbon dioxide containing combustion exhaust gas mass flow from a furnace (1) into a carbonator (3) of a carbonate looping system (2), where the carbonate looping system includes a calciner (4) with a carbonate-forming sorbent flowing within a loop. A portion of firing is replaced with heat that is removed from multiple heat sources, and is sent through indirect heat exchange to the carbonate-solids mass flow before the carbonate-solids mass flow enters the calciner. An independent claim is also included for an arrangement for separating carbon dioxide from combustion exhaust gas produced in a furnace through combustion of carbon based fuels or wastes with air as an oxidizing agent.</p> |
