The invention relates to the field of polymers and biomedical applications thereof. In particular, it relates to the use of polymeric amines derived from alternating polyketones. Provided is the use of a polymeric amine for modulating or supporting cellular behavior, said polymeric amine being an alternating aliphatic polyketone comprising N-substituted 2,5-pyrrolediyl groups incorporated in the polymer backbone and bearing an amino functional group pendant from the polymer backbone.
