Device for processing spaced flat products comprises machine elements lying next to a gap (2) which move against each other in operation and move away from each other against the force of a spring-damper system (8). Preferred Features: The spring-damper system has a displacement chamber (9) containing a flowing medium which can be increased or decreased by the movement of at least on of the machine elements lying next to the gap. The displacement chamber is connected to an accumulator (13) via a flow path (11) containing a flow throttle (10). The accumulator contains a flow medium impinged by a force.
