The invention relates to a piercing system comprising a lancet carrier strip (3) provided with several lancets (4), a transport unit (5, 11, 17) that transports the lancet carrier strip (3) in a delivery direction along a delivery path, thus successively bringing the lancets (4) of the carrier strip (3) into a piercing position and a piercing drive (6) that initiates the piercing motion of the lancet (4) situated in the piercing position. According to the invention, during the piercing motion, the piercing drive (6) moves the lancet (4) situated in the piercing position together with a section of the lancet carrier strip (3), to which the lancet (4) is attached, in the piercing direction and at least one part of the transport unit (5, 11, 17), located behind the piercing position in the delivery direction, is moved prior to or during the piercing motion of a lancet (4) that has previously been brought into the piercing position. |
