PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control unit for enlarging its display screen and capable of simply providing a revision instruction for various settings and controls, with respect to a desired external apparatus. SOLUTION: Operating units are visibly displayed on a display means, wherein a transparent or translucent planar display medium is arranged, while keeping the transparency. The control unit detects the observing point of an operator and particularizes the operating unit on the display medium visibly displayed at the detected view point of the operator on the basis of the detection, and specifies the external apparatus which the operator can view, so as to nearly overlap with the display position of the specified operating unit among external apparatuses arranged at positions viewable by the operator, while passing through the display medium, when in use. When the control unit detects the operation of at least the specified operating unit, the control unit applies setting and control to the specified external apparatus in response to the detection. Thus, the control unit can provide a large and easy to see display screen for the operator and the operator can simply carry out the instructions for setting the desired external apparatus or/and the control of input output signals of the external apparatus on the display means.
