PURPOSE: A gate valve is provided to facilitate manufacture of the valve body by employing a membrane type elastic member made of synthetic resin. CONSTITUTION: A gate valve comprises a slide plate(210), an elastic member(220), a compression plate(230), a guide frame(240), and a tension unit. The slide plate slides with one side in contact with an inner wall of a gate housing(100). The elastic member is made of a synthetic resin material of membrane form. The compression plate has a protrusion(231) formed on one side coming in contact with the elastic member. The guide frame presses the girth of the elastic member to the slide plate. The tension unit connects the slide plate and the compression plate.
