PURPOSE: A method for making Hovenis dulcis tea is provided to improve the flavor and taste of Hovenis dulcis leaves used for making tea by roasting the leaves of a Hovenis dulcis before drying the leaves and optimizing the roasting time, leaf size, and the sequence of a manufacturing process. CONSTITUTION: A method for making Hovenis dulcis tea comprises the following steps: washing the leaves of a Hovenis dulcis; cutting the washed leaves; roasting the cut leaves of the Hovenis dulcis for 5 ~ 10 minutes; cooling the roasted leaves in a sealed container for 1 ~ 2 hours; roasting the cooled leaves at a temperature of 150°C ~ 200°C; roasting the roasted leaves again at a temperature of 180°C ~ 230°C for 2 ~ 5 minutes; drying the roasted leaves; manufacturing a tea bag by sealing the dried leaves in the tea bag; and cutting the leaves to 2 ~ 5 cm pieces.
