The subject the present invention is a textile, particularly for the production of wound dressings, which contains genetically modified flax fibre produced from flax possessing genetically modified cells containing a three-gene construct containing cDNA encoding enzymes of flavonoid synthesis, meaning chalcone synthase (CHS), chalcone isomerase (CHI) and dihydroflavonol reductase (DFR) or containing a monogene construct possessing a cDNA encoding glucose transferase. The textile is used preferentially for the production of wound dressings used to treat mechanical, physical and chemical bodily damage.
