PURPOSE: A heat dissipating device and a method thereof are provided to control the amount of heat generated from an LED by controlling a driving power applied to a LED. CONSTITUTION: A temperature sensor is installed in a chamber arranging a LED. A controller of a lamp controls the operation of an inverter according to the temperature value inside the chamber outputted in the temperature sensor. During a high period, a voltage is set as 1-2 times of an LED operating voltage size. During a low period, a lower voltage than the operating voltage can be applied or no voltage can be applied. Voltage is applied to the LED with a pulse shape reiterating the high period and the low period. A time interval of the low period and the high period is varied according to the output value of the temperature sensor. |
