The invention relates to hardening mechanical surface treatment. A method of hardening and polishing surface includes thermal-frictional treatment of surface by a rotary tool. After thermal-frictional treatment finishing grinding treatment of surface to be hardened is performed at a rate of feed of the surface to be hardened to the rotary tool that does not exceed 200 mm/s, in relation to the depth of treatment not exceeding 1/2 of the thickness of surface to be hardened. As a tool a metal-plastic abrasive compound disc is used. The invention provides for possibility of simultaneous surface hardening and polishing within one pass with simultaneous increase of the indices of microhardness and increase of compressive forces of surface layer subject to such a treatment. |
