PURPOSE: A novel metal compound and a method for preparing olefin polymer using the same are provided to easily control electrical and three-dimensional environment around the metal. CONSTITUTION: A novel metal compound is denoted by chemical formula 1. In chemical formula 1, Q1 is arylene of 6-60 carbon atoms, alkyl arylene of 7-60 carbon atoms, or alkylarylene of 7-20 carbon atoms containing hetero atom. A catalyst composition is a form dipping metal compounds and crude catalyst compound. The catalyst composition and monomer are able to obtain olefin polymer by contacting. The monomer is ethylene, propylene, 1-butene, 1-phentene, 4-methyl-1-penthene-1-hexene, 1-heptene, 1-octene, 1-decene, 1undecene, and 1-tetraese.
