The device has a bracing element for bracing an upper part of side walls (1) of a refuse container near an articulation on side walls of a rear door leaf (8). The bracing element is formed by a stirrup (11). The stirrup has a connection crossbeam (12) joining struts (10). Each strut is equipped with an articulation clevis (9) articulated at the top of the side walls of the container such that the stirrup is folded on an upper edge (2) of an opening of the container with the crossbeam in a position so as to align the door leaf vertical to the crossbeam.
