PURPOSE: A pinch roll control device and a control method thereof are provided to prevent operation from being stopped or production throughput from being lowered by minimizing strip thickness change due to a pinch roll mark. CONSTITUTION: A pinch roll control device comprises a strip skew detector, a pinch roll load standard value output unit, a pinch roll stress controller, and a pinch roll gap controller. The strip skew detector detects the skew measurement value of the strip(S30). The pinch roll load standard value output unit outputs pinch roll standards load as a final standard load within a standards load maximum/minimum range(S51). According to the final standard load, the pinch roll stress controller calculates the pinch roll gap standard value(S52). According to the pinch roll gap standard value, the pinch roll gap controller controls the pinch roll gap.
