<p>PURPOSE: Electrolyte-exposed and dye-sensitized solar cells are provided to simplify a manufacturing process and minimize failure rate by forming a thin film type metal protective layer which protects a metal grid from an electrolyte. CONSTITUTION: A conductive transparent electrode(20) is formed on the surface of a substrate(10). A corresponding electrode(40) which functions as a catalyst is formed on a semiconductor electrode(30). A metal grid(100) is formed on the upper and the lower conductive transparent electrodes. A protective layer is formed to protect the metal grid. The protective layer is formed with a thin film type metal protective layer(200) which is composed of a metal. The metal for the protective layer and the metal for the metal grid are different. The metal grid including the metal protective layer is exposed to an electrolyte.</p>
