This invention provides a lithium composite metal oxide containing Li, Mn and M, wherein M represents at least one metal element and is free from Li or Mn. In a radial distribution function obtained by subjecting a broad X-ray absorption fine structure (EXAFS) spectrum at K absorption end of Mn in the oxide to Fourier transformation, the lithium composite metal oxide gives a peak around 1.5 angstroms (peak A) and a peak around 2.5 angstroms (peak B). The I/Ivalue is not less than 0.15 and not more than 0.9 wherein Irepresents the intensity of the peak A and Irepresents the intensity of the peak B. |
