<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a submerged pipeline system for transport of water, preferably, drinking water. <P>SOLUTION: The pipe sections 7 are fitted at each end of the pipe with a cylindrical spigot 2 having dimensions and threading suitable to engage with the bell ends 1 of coupling devices, wherein the pipe sections are made of an engineering thermoplastic material 6 and wherein the spigots and the coupling devices are made of a cured resin composition. For manufacturing the submerged pipeline, the pipe sections and the coupling devices are engaged with an insertion joint in a marine assembly location.
