PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress deterioration in performance of a liquid level detecting device due to electrolytic corrosion of its electrodes, while suppressing an increase in manufacture cost of the liquid level detecting device. SOLUTION: The liquid level detecting device includes a circuit board 1 on which a plurality of electrodes 21 arranged in parallel and electric resistors 3 connected electrically with the electrodes 21 are formed, and a sliding part 141 which slides on the electrodes 21 along an arc of a circle whose center is at a predetermined rotation center C0, with a change in position of a liquid surface, and the detecting device is so constituted that the electric resistors 3 are not formed in a sliding area A1 where the sliding part 141 slides on the electrodes 21, that the sliding part 141 is brought into electrical contact with the electrodes 21 while sliding the part 141 on the electrodes 21 in the sliding area A1, and that in accordance with an electrode 21 with which out of the plurality of electrodes 21 the sliding part 141 is in touch, the value of the electric resistance generated by the electric resistor 3 and the electrode 21 and the sliding part 141 varies. In the device, covered areas A2 where the electrodes 21 are covered by the electric resistors 3 are widened until the areas A2 adjoin the sliding area A1. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
