PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotation transmitting mechanism for an endoscope constituted so as to smoothly transmit the torque of a drive motor arranged in an operation part to the leading end of a flexible rotation transmitting member without losing the same so that the leading end of the rotation transmitting member is allowed to immediately linearly follow the rotation of the base end side thereof to be brought to a rotating state and having good responsiveness causing no irregularity in the change state or the like of observation magnification. SOLUTION: The rotation transmitting mechanism for an endoscope is constituted so that the operation part 2 is connected to the base end of an insertion part 1 having flexibility, the leading end of the flexible rotation transmitting member 9, which is arranged so as to be inserted in the insertion part 1, is connected to the member 8 to be operated arranged in the leading end of the insertion part 1 in a freely rotatable manner and the drive motor 11 for rotationally operating the rotation transmitting member 9 from its base end side is arranged in the operation part 2, and provided with an energizing means 23 for allowing elastical traction force to always act on the rotation transmitting member 9 from its base end side.
